Usually when I sing this song I sing
You take away my sins ( audience no reaction)
You will come again ( audience no reaction)
And You know where I've been ( audience looks sad,or relieved ,or lets out a breath, or takes a dep breath in)
So to me it seems that many at least in the USA and Canada have heard the meesage of Jesus dying for our sins and rose from the dead and will come again and have gotten used to hearing that. But when they hear the lyric and You know where I've been reality hits them and they are reminded when they were most vulnerable . It happens almost every time
